Cells Scavenger Hunt

 

1.  Living things must be able to do several things in order to be alive.  What are they?  List each characteristic and give a brief – one sentence - description of the characteristic.

2.  There are two main types of cells – prokaryotic and eukaryotic.  What is the difference between the two?  What are some examples of each type? Which type of cell is your body composed of?

3.  Eukaryotic cells are highly organized structures which are made up of smaller structures called organelles.  Some of these structures include: nucleus, cytoplasm, lysosomes, centrioles, mitochondrion, chromosomes, endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi apparatus, cell membrane, and nucleolus.  Use the drawing on your paper to identify each structure and tell its function (What does it do in the cell?).
