BELIEF STATEMENTS:
All Students have the ability to learn.
Students learn best when there are high expectations and they are actively engaged in the learning and assessment process.
Each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.
Students must be taught to apply their learning in meaningful context.
Curriculum and instructional practices should incorporate a variety of learning activities to accommodate differences in learning styles.
Assessments of student learning should provide students with a variety of opportunities to demonstrate their achievement.
Staff, students, parents, and community share the responsibility for advancing the school's mission in order for our students to become confident learners.
A safe and physically comfortable environment promotes student learning.
When needed, additional services and resources will be available to all students.
Positive character traits are modeled to help develop a well rounded individual.
OVERALL GOALS:
The staff at Lyman Hall Elementary School is striving to
create a learning environment conducive to continuous professional growth and
student improvement. Our goal is for 100% of our students to perform on grade
level in Language Arts and Math. The overall writing goal is to improve the CBA
at the fifth grade level with a 2% increase yearly in the top two stages of
writing for three years. Our overall Math goal is to increase the
meeting/exceeding expectations on the CRCT by 2% yearly in a specifically
identified area of need at each grade level. We will accomplish these goals by
focusing our improvement efforts on instructional strategies and best practices
which increase the level of student engagement in the learning process.
