It is my
pleasure to welcome you to Frank Long Elementary School’s
Webpage! We hope that you find it informative and helpful as
you strive to learn more about our school. I invite you to

information. We are dedicated to continual improvement as you
can see by reading our yearly School Improvement Plan (SIP).
This plan gives details on how our staff will develop strategies
designed to help our students become successful life-long
learners. We are in the process of developing a link which
shows how our students are performing on standardized tests.
Although we are well above state averages, we will not be
satisfied until all students are learning to their maximum
potential.
Improving
student achievement is our primary focus. We maintain very high
expectations of our students as we work to help them master all
skills emphasized by the Georgia Performance Standards.
Although we will insist our students work hard to reach their
goals, we have developed many strategies to help those who
struggle and have difficulty.
Technology is a
very important part of the learning process at Frank Long
Elementary School. All of our teachers have received training
on successfully implementing technology into the learning
process. We believe the advantages offered by recent
technological advances are very beneficial to our students. We
use computers and many other forms of technology as tools to aid
in student achievement. Our educational programs use technology
as a supplement to the learning process and not simply as game
stations to be used when other work is finished.
We are in the
process of developing both an indoor science lab and an outdoor
classroom to help enrich our science curriculum. Students will
have opportunities to observe many different types of animals in
our indoor lab, and they can learn many interesting and
informative facts through exploration in the outdoor
classroom.
