Very Important per Dr. Scherer - You must update your attendance daily and enter excuses the day they come in. Power School now is seen live by the GADOE and can be checked any day, any time for updates. If you have excuses that have not been entered, please take care of that ASAP. Also, we have had some errors in our 20 day reports. YOU MUST CAREFULLY CHECK YOUR TWENTY DAY REPORTS FOR ACCURACY. Birthdays, SS#'s, gender, ethnic, and spelling must be verified under penalty of law and a large fine. Be sure your attendance cards match what is in the computer. PLEASE TAKE THIS VERY SERIOUSLY.

FYI for Honor Roll (decided by
Leadership Team in July)
Honor roll eligibility will be determined according to the following criteria:
Students in grades 1-5 earn “honor roll†status if they have a minimum of 4 A’s and 1 B in the major subjects (Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies). Students must also earn a Satisfactory grade in PE, Music, Art, Computer and Health. Honor roll students can have no C’s or F’s, and must earn an S in Citizenship.
Students in grades K can be named to the “Principal’s List†by earning all M’s in the academic areas and S’s/E’s in the special areas classes. They must also earn an S in citizenship.
We will also implement another category this year: A student earns A/B honor roll by having an 80 or above in each subject area and E or S in citizenship and specials, no N’s or U’s in any area.
- Benchmark testing during computer times or as scheduled. Assigned paras will be in the lab all day.

Good Morning.
The group from the BOE came to look at our
schedules, class sizes, and school
improvement plan yesterday. Everything went
well and I was so glad that we were able to
keep all of our teachers. The only thing I
was worried about was that we would lose two
teachers due to the number of students, but
they were OK with the numbers.
Please
continue to remind your students about hall
and cafeteria behavior.

I
apologize for the confusion yesterday with
the S.T.A.R. orientation for grades 2-5. I
completely forgot about it. Thanks for your
cooperation.
PLEASE remind your students
about behavior in the cafeteria. There is no
talking during breakfast. When the moment of
silence and the pledge are announced,
students are to stop eating and stand at
attention. You need to have a classroom

Good Morning. Thanks for a great first full
week. You are awesome!
- Mr. Adams would like you to send the box top letters home today (Friday).
- Please set up your grade book in Power School as soon as you can. Remember you have to set up all four quarters per Paula Crowley. Be sure you have the weights put in correctly - quarters are different than semesters. Let me know if you need help.
- Please continue to remind students about cafeteria behavior.
- Weather permitting, we will have our fire drill at 8:50 so that the Kindergarteners can be with their teachers for the first fire drill. Classes that have specials second period can deliver their students to specials after the fire drill. Please use the current maps tomorrow. We will see if any changes need to be made.
- All teacher web pages are updated and all lesson plans were posted this week! Great job!
Highlights from the Principals' Mtg.:
- United Way - the first school to have 100% participation (not $) will receive a beautifully carved "Spirit Stick" to display in the school.
- Free and reduced lunch applications deadline is September 15th.
- "One Call Now" will be ready to use in two weeks.
- Elementary Dress Code - Do not have a student change into a uniform from the uniform closet without parent permission. More about this later. I will generate a permission letter so we can have it handy and not have to make calls.
- Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program - You will be receiving fruit and vegetable 3 times a week, beginning August 22nd. Much more about this later.
- The school board will not have a meeting at BGE this year.
